Outlander’s Cowl Making Queen Redux

Or the Twitter Knitter if you prefer! Either way, Mika is all that and a bag of chips! She is the whole damn Happy Meal! You may remember I wrote a previous piece on her mad cowl making skills for @BeatBloodCancer which you can find HERE.

Mika’s orginal goal for the charity was $10,000 dollars, and as you can see from the above picture, she exceeded that goal. At last check, she was $200.00 away from $12,000. Anyone who follows her on Twitter can see there is not quit in her and she is still going strong. Last count was $11.825!

I asked her via Twitter’s Direct message how she felt about the amount she has raised for the charity Beat Blood Cancer and this is what she had to say!

OMFG is about how I feel about the $12K as I only expected to raise between $300-500. Translate that into “most surprised” LOL-Mika

She still has donations coming in as I type this post so she could very well exceed the 12k seeing as this will end March 14th! Let’s all give Mika a round of applause, shall we? This all coincides with the My Peak Challenge as purchasing what I like to call the ‘Peak Pack’ included a £5 donation from every sale to Sam Heughan’s chosen charity, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. I guess you could say this was Mika’s Peak Challenge.

Before I get to more good news (which all of Twitterville should know by now), I have well, more good news for the charity. In addition to Mika’s fundraising efforts, My Peak Posse have an amazing giveaway that is fully loaded with prizes from the cast, producers and even HERSELF! Now, back to Mika and her mad knitting skills! Everyone in the world of Outlander and Twitter knows that Sam Heughan has been doing a fan follow whereby he follows a lucky fan for a week and that winner picks a new follow for him, however they see fit to do so! Karen, AKA purpleiris decided to pick Mika and I could not be more thrilled and excited for her. I will once again be living vicariously through her as I tend to do!

I asked her about how she felt about being Sam’s next fan follow and it went pretty much like this:

Well, I might have overplayed that reaction seeing as you can’t see reactions on Twitter but Mika will appreciate it!

Well, the Sam’s Fan Follow ride will be over after Mika’s week as per Sam’s recent tweet due to his crazy schedule. I knew it could not last forever for Nothing Gold Can Stay (had to use the title from my favorite poem) We will still have Sam when he is available and I would like to thank him for the generosity of his time!

Maybe if we all play nicely and when he has time, he just might be up for another round of the Fan Follow! It’s been a wild ride!! Looking forward to April 4th, it won’t be long now!! Later’s Baby! Whoa, wrong fandom! See ya later, Sassenachs!
