Outlander: Question of the Week

outlander, outlander question of the week, outlander starz, caitriona balfe, claire randall,

It’s Sunday.. time for the Outlander QOTW!

This week’s question is all about what ifs.

Claire Randall was a nurse and a wife and soon to be a faculty wife. And perfectly happy to be all of these things. She loved her husband and he loved her. She wasn’t one of those wives looking to take the grocery money in a taxi to the train station. She was content with her life and with the path she and Frank were on.

Then one day, she saw a plant she couldn’t quite identify. Her curiosity wouldn’t let her just leave it alone, so she went back to get a sample. She went to pick a flower, and pretty much in the blink of an eye, her life changed in ways she never ever could have dreamed of.

What if she had said, “pfffft, I’d rather go look at bills of sale with my husband.” Or what if she went, but Frank, deciding that maybe getting lucky at an ancient circle of standing stones was more fun than Black Jack’s bills of sale and went with her. What if she went, alone, but 4 hours later?

Everything worked exactly to get her in the exact spot she needed to be to meet Jamie.

So, my question is this: What seemingly mundane decision have you made that ended up putting you in a place that changed your life? And, knowing what you know now, given the chance to go back, would you still make the same choice?

I went to a dance with a friend … and I really didn’t want to be there. But I met a fella…who didn’t want to be there either! And 33 married years later, I still believe we were meant to be there!
