Fans of Outlander and HERSELF knew the writer, Diana Gabaldon had a cameo in an upcoming episode and now we get a first hand look, thanks to Entertainment Weekly.
HERSELF will appear in this Saturdays episode ‘The Gathering’ which she filmed last Feburary. It will be a speaking role but she warned on Twitter not to blink or we will miss her. I doubt that, I really do.
“Matt Roberts, the scriptwriter for this particular episode (and a lovely man he is, too, Guy Fawkes beard notwithstanding), would write a tiny scenelet for me,” Gabaldon explained. “Just a couple of lines of dialogue. They could then film that pretty quickly on its own, and I’d then be released… The lady in question is at the Gathering, and the scenelet in question takes place in one of the galleries over the Great Hall.”
She looks really beautiful, doesn’t she? I am really looking forward to this episode, and hearing her lines. The costumes are amazing and so authentic. Terry Dresbach does a fabulous job of putting the viewers into that time period. You feel as if your are truly there.
I feel much better about Diana making a cameo than Charlaine making hers in TB.

I will have to wait until Sunday or Monday to see her performance because I will be out of town. I wish my cable provider had Starz online in my area! I probably won’t even remember to look for her by then. I’ll just have to watch it more than once I guess! And I shall not be drawing comparisons between DG and CH!

I shall not be either, hence the no comment. I really don’t think we will be able to NOT notice her. Its worth watching over and over again.

When I posted the above comment I meant that I am very happy about DG being on the show; I think she is perfect. I wasn’t happy about the CH situation and wanted to make that indignation known. However, I realize I probably shouldn’t have said anything about CH or that situation and I do apologize. It was a way to compare the two situations but I shouldn’t have said anything. I am sorry. 🙂

I didn’t think your comment was inappropriate; no need to apologize in my opinion. I get what you were saying. My comment meant to imply that I wasn’t going to open that can of worms…ie don’t get me started about CH. No big deal. 🙂
